How do we drive to Stupná?

Czech Republic is closer than a lot of people think. For your feeling it lies still behind the Iron Curtain, however since 1989, that is passed.
Owing to the construction of good highways through the former East-Germany (almost six-lain-motorway) is the way to the Czech Republic pleasant to drive.

Route:
The fastest way to drive from Holland is via Osnabrück (A30), Bad Öyenhausen, Hannover, Braunschweig, Magdenburg (A14), Halle, Leipzig, Dresden (A4), etc. see below. (Than the distance Hengelo - Stupná is 850 Km., that is 10 or 12 hours included traffic-jan, border, stops and the choice of the right road).

You can also drive via Kassel, Erfurt(A4) to dresden and Bautzen. (This road ia about 100 Km longer and goes through a hilly area).

In any case leave the highway at Bautzen (exit Bautzen-Ost/Wesswasser) direction Löbau (B178) and Zittau, where th German/Polish and Polish/Czech border is (twice controle!!)

In Czech direction Löbau (first road nr. 9, than road nr. 13?E442). In/after Liberec (Reichenbach) to Trutnov (road nr. 35/E442, this is almost a four-lain-motor(high)way ). From Turnov to Jicin and than to Trutnov/Nova Paka/Vidochov Stupná (first road nr. 35 and later road nr. 16) this is a two-lain-motorrway.

From road E442/35 follow through Zittau . Liberec (Reichembach) . Turnov and at Jicin (road 16) directing Trutnov . Paka . Vidochov Stupná

go right and after 4 km you see on your left the house number 9  for the key-address still drive  500 m straight ahead
Go backe and at  the left side an old school is standing and a sign which says ARCADIAN park, here you have to go to the left to go up to the mountain until the house Jestrabi.

Coming from Jicin you must follow the road directed to Nova Paka, through Nova Paka. Through Nova Paka (on the right side Pennyma and a bit further on the left side a little shop in antiques, 100 ŕ 200 mtr. Grass-lands, then a sharp turn to the left (direction Trutnov). In the middle of the junction a cross is standing.

Keep to the right (Watch it!: You are through the turn before you know it). Also no problem, then straight through the turn to the right and follow downwards. At the junction keep to the right and keep following the road for about 4 km. until the house (number 9) at the left side of the road. At the right side an old school is standing and a sign which says ARCADIAN park, here you have to go with a sharp turn to the right to go up to the mountain until the house Jestrabi.

Before you go up, you have to fetch the key at Jozef first (see description of the route above)
Back to ARCADIAN park. Now the house is standing on the right and the school and the sign on the left.
